With a bike, an iron and an ironing board 4000 km far to Istanbul.
pauwel On Sunday, August 16, Pauwel De Gols started his challenge of biking some 2485.6 miles from Opwijk (Belgium) to Istanbul (Turkey). On his luggage rack he takes a ironing board and an iron, the aim of his trip is to raise funds for the ‘Child Revalidation Center UZ Gent'.

For five weeks, every day he will be cycling about 130 km, with 25 kg of luggage, an iron and an ironing board on his luggage rack. At night he will sleep in his tent or with hospitable people. With its special attributes he just wants attention for his charity. He will make every day a photo to his inspiring site www.extremeironing.com

His solo tour for charity is finally the beginning of a number of initiatives with apotheosis in July of next year, the big event named "Opaledhuez, a bike ride with 14 villagers of Opwijk to Alpe d'Huez. The idea for this challenge sprat from the fact that a child of one of his cycling friends is a patient in the Child Revalidation Center UZ Gent.

Anyone who will support the Child Revalidation Center UZ Gent by supporting Pauwel can do this by donating money on the bank account number below, every donation from at least 30€ is tax deductible:
